Exhibition Guidelines Questions

Juror: Diane Fine

Diane Fine is currently SUNY Distinguished Professor of Teaching at Plattsburgh State University where she has taught printmaking and book arts for many years. This has given her the opportunity to watch the program develop and grow. She received her M.F.A. in Graphics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a B.F.A. from Syracuse University. She has an active studio practice and exhibits her work regularly. Diane is represented in many important collections including the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the New York Public Library, and Yale University Art Gallery. She has been a fellow at the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts and the MacDowell Colony. Both were extremely important professional experiences. She recently had a one-person exhibition at Beaux Arts des Ameriques in Montreal, Quebec. She works primarily in the two related art media of printmaking and book arts. She is inspired by printmaking’s techniques that enable her to create many and varied kinds of surfaces and marks. Collaboration with fellow artists, part of the tradition of printmaking and the book arts, has been an essential part of her learning process and production.

Kimball Jenkins Estate

The Kimball Jenkins Estate was originally the private residence of a prominent Concord, New Hampshire family. It is now home to the growing Kimball Jenkins School of Art. In 1981, the last heir of the Kimball Jenkins line, Carolyn Jenkins, left the estate to a non-profit trust with directions that it “be used for cultural and educational purposes, including the encouragement of art.” In keeping with her wishes, it is now a thriving visual arts school, the Kimball Jenkins School of Art.
