SUSAN HODES
“River Reflections” Series: I have long been drawn to water imagery with its constantly changing depths and surfaces, its mirroring of the sky and clouds. I’m affected by the birds flying and the insects buzzing. The meditative experience of drawing near the water goes into the work. Two locations have inspired many monotypes and paintings: the Charles River in Waltham near where I live and work, and Sebago Lake in Maine where I have been going during the summer since childhood. Ms. Hodes’ work has been featured in over 75 exhibitions throughout the United States and is represented in numerous private, corporate and museum collections. Most recently she has exhibited at the Judi Rotenberg Gallery on Newbury Street in Boston and at the Joan Whalen Gallery, 24 W. 57th St. in New York City.
