THE CONSTRUCTED MARK a workshop with Ron Pokrasso (August 11 - 15, 2008)

WORKSHOP INFORMATION

Ron Pokrasso has been an exhibiting artist and printmaker for more than 25 years. He received his MFA degree from Pratt Institute in 1975 and has had over 40 solo exhibits and more than 150 group shows. His work is in public, private and corporate collections throughout the USA and abroad. The workshop focus will be to transform your monotypes (works on paper) to panels that can then be handled as paintings, collage and assemblages. Various forms of printmaking set the stage for images in the first two days. Then using woodwork tools, wood panels and hollow core doors, participants will learn how to construct their own substrates for furthering compositions. Collage plays a major role and the various uses of acrylic sealers and glues will be demonstrated. This workshop will encourage participants to experiment, using what works and taking it to the next level to create intriguing, interesting and complex compositions.

Studio open from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. daily

WORKSHOP: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily with instructor
FEE: MGNE Members' fee: $525 plus $50 material fee
NON-MEMBERS' FEE: $555 plus $50 material fee

REGISTRATION DEADLINES
Deadline: A  $100 deposit must be received by May 1, 2008.  Remaining balance is due by June 30, 2008.
