Rebecca Ronstadt had a solo show of her lithographs, a second edition of J.J. Audubon's "Viviparous Quadrupeds of North America - Drawn from Nature" at the New Hampshire Audubon annual meeting, June 16, 2007. Rebecca Ronstadt had a solo show of her lithographs, "a second edition of J.J. Audubon's "Viviparous Quadrupeds of North America - Drawn from Nature" at the Gilford Public Library through the month of May, 2007. Last year, Juror, Katherine Kernan, an MGNE member, and well-known teacher in the Boston area, selected two pieces of Inga-Britta Mill ’s work for the Cooperstown Art Association’s 2006 National Exhibition. Judy Greenberg had a solo show at the Friend's Gallery at the Needham Free Public Library through the month of June, 2007. Richard Harrington exhibited monotypes and pastels in a solo exhibit at the Providence Art Club from May 14 to June 1, 2007. Ric Haynes is exhibiting recent paintings in a show titled, Embellishments, at the Pierre Menard Gallery, Cambridge, MA, from May 23 to June 24, 2007. Susan Denniston was awarded third prize in printmaking for her four-color intaglio etching “Cry of the Curve” at the Duxbury Art Association’s 2007 Winter Juried Show. The show is at the Art Complex in Duxbury through April 22. She will be one of five featured gallery artists (along with Jim Baker and Don Larkin) at the South Shore Art Center from April 13 through May 20. The opening reception will be held in conjunction with the opening of TechArt III on Friday, April 13, 2007, 6-8 pm. Martha Jan Bradford will exhibit digital drawings at the Novak Gallery, The Beecher Center, The Butler Institute of American Art, Youngstown, Ohio, from October 15 to December 30, 2006. Lynda Goldberg will exhibit monotypes inspired by nature in a solo exhibit at the Newton Free Library, Newton, MA. The exhibit, Natural Beauty, will run November 2 to November 29, 2006 with a reception on November 8th from 7 to 8:30 PM. In June 2006 Lorraine Gentile Haynes and Ric Haynes completed a month-long monotype course of studies with Linda Goodman at Il Bisonte international school of graphic arts in Florence, Italy. Maria Gratta-Pagnani had three monotypes accepted in the Pembroke Arts Festival’s juried Art Show. The Arts Festival is August 4-6. 100 Center Street, Pembroke, MA. Annette Mitchell, printmaker and author of Foam Is Where The Art Is--New Ways To Print has a one person show of her prints on canvas at Kimball-Jenkins Art Gallery, Concord, NH from March 24-April 28, 2006. Her work can be seen at www.foamiswheretheartis.com From October to mid December, 2006 Tom Mills will be exhibiting at the Center for Maine Contemporary Art, Rockport, in “Maine Printmakers: 1980-2005,” a gala group exhibition of traditional printing processes from a matrix created by Maine artists in the past 25 years. Bruce Brown, Curator at the Center for Maine Contemporary Art, is the coordinator and chair for the Maine Print Project, a collaboration of 25 art museums and nonprofit arts institutions celebrating 200 years of printmaking in Maine, taking place from August 2006 through February 2007 Nancy McTague-Stock is currently exhibiting in a juried group show entitled, "Culture and DNA: Science meets Art" through April 20th, at the Silvermine Galleries in New Canaan, Connecticut. The curator of this exhibit is Myles Axton, Editor, Nature Genetics Magazine. In February Joan Hausrath conducted a monotype workshop for high school art teachers in Cambridge, MA and in May she will be artist-in-residence at Lowell High School teaching pronto plate printmaking for three weeks. In March she conducted a demo and gave a presentation of non-toxic printmaking to the print students at UMass Dartmouth, MA. Linda Horvitz Post has been juried into the The Cambridge Art Association’s National Prize Show which opens on May 11. Mary Pollak recently had a solo show of monotypes and mixed media work at River Gallery in Ipswich MA. Judy Swanson had a watercolor and a monoprint accepted into the West Hartford (CT) Art League juried show which just ended. By the way, the monoprint sold! She also had two woodblock prints accepted into the Lyme (CT) Art Association juried show which is still running. Lena Marchi will be showing at The Trustman Art Gallery, Simmons College, Boston April 24-June 2nd. This is a showcase of 10 years of A.R.T. grant recipients from the Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation. Artists who were selected in 2005 will be celebrated in the show and the l0 years of grant winners will be in the catalogue. Catalogue essays are by Joseph Thompson of Mass MOCA. The reception will be in conjunction with the exhibition and the catalogue. Also, Lena recently had work in The Blue Show, Space200 in Boston. Anita Hunt has an exhibit of her recent monotypes on display at Cafe Koko, 204 Main Street in Greenfield, MA, now through March 26. From February through March, Miriam Gilman exhibited two pieces in Wentworth Institute of Technology's Casella Gallery show "Inhabiting an Expansive Terrain" and two pieces in Bunker Hill Community College's Art Gallery show "Women's Caucus for Art New England Regional Chapters' Group Exhibit. She also had one piece in Hebrew College's Goldman Gallery show "L'Dor V'Dor: From Generation to Generation". Marian O’Connell won second in Graphics in the Duxbury Annual Juried Show for a print titled, "Fire Escape." The show continues through April 30. She also won an Award of Merit for “Metamorphosis” at the Green River Gallery's March Show in Bristol, RI and "Latin Rhythms" got into the Newport Art Museum's Annual Members Show that continues through May 21. Liz Chalfin and Anita Hunt exhibited in A Community at Work – Zea Mays Printmaking at the Northampton (MA) Center for the Arts. Bev Carreiro won an Honorable Mention for her monoprint: "The Messenger" at the Duxbury Art Association's Winter Juried Show at the Duxbury Art Complex, Duxbury, MA. The juror was Marc St. Pierre. The following members of MGNE exhibited in the Boston Printmakers’ show, New Landscape, at the Danforth Museum in Framingham, MA: James Baker, Anita Hunt, Jan Arabus, Rhoda Rosenberg, Catherine Kernan, Marc Cote, Liz Chalfin and Selma Bromberg. Carol Blackwell is exhibiting box assemblages in a solo show “Construction Sights” at the Newton (MA) Free Library until April 27th. She will be teaching printmaking at the Danforth Museum, Framingham, MA in July and August. Susan Denniston’s four color intaglio etching, “Scuola del Sicomoro”, created at Studio Camnitzer in Italy, received first prize in printmaking at the 2006 Duxbury Winter Juried Show. She received first prize in the mixed media category at the Cape Cod Art Association's 2006 Winter Juried Show for “Ars Longa, Vita Brevis”, a monotype with chine colle. Sharon Coffin was accepted into the 105th Annual Juried Art Exhibition at the New Haven Paint & Clay Club, March 19-April 9. She also won a Purchase Award. Jurors: William H. Bailey, and Bernard Chaet. Linda Batchelor has a solo show titled "Pattern and Palette" at the Charles Russell Gallery, Deerfield Academy, Deerfield MA opening April 20th and running through May 25th. Two of Lisa Black’s monotypes were accepted in the Greenwich(CT) Art Society's 89th Annual Juried Members' show in March, 2006. Clarice Pollack is currently exhibiting in “Narratives,” curated by Fethi Meghelli at the Small Space Gallery of the Arts Council of Greater New Haven and in the Women’s Caucus for Art at the Starpin Gallery in Shelton, CT. She also received an award for one of two entries in the New Haven Paint and Clay exhibit at John Slade Ely House in New Haven. June Levinson had a monotype, "Netscape" accepted in the Inaugural Exhibit in the gallery at Olin College of Engineering, Needham, MA. |
