ARTIST STATEMENT
Growing up in a small Appalachian Ohio town has strongly influenced my work. My inky, rich monotypes have a visual depth and pictorial strength that belie size. The unique technique and handling of media evoke an invitation into scenes that combine memory and presence. Over the years my work has become more complex with additional elements of scraffito, hand painting and collage.
