Alice Nicholson-Galick

Into the Wild
18×12 collagraph, 2010

ARTIST STATEMENT

Drawing from nature and the figure my work reflects interpretations and abstractions of space and color and light. Presently I am working in woodcut but I explore and combine all methods of printmaking. I layer my images in transparent color and use the monotype for it’s unique possibilities. As my images become repeated in series it is often with a different thought added as in a conversation that continues through a body of work. I have begun to incorporate recent travels and the marshes and water that surround my home.
