ARTIST STATEMENT
The allure of the mono type for me rests in the fine border of the technical process and creative unknowns exposed with each pull.
The process allows for an expansion and exploration of capturing a moment of fleeting and transitioning light across a landscape in a way more sensuous then I can produce painting directly on canvas. My technique involves both additive and subtractive methods on each print. I transfer my image with a baren or hand rub directly so I can be apart of the composition as much as possible.
