ARTIST STATEMENT
I started creating monotypes more than 15 years ago and fell in love with the process with my first print. There is something about the moment you peel the paper off the plate that is very appealing to me. I love that element of surprise. There is also a texture and layering effect that you can’t get with direct painting that I have come to love. I feel as though I’ve just scratched the surface of the possibilities of the technique and continue to learn with each print I make.
