ARTIST STATEMENT
I draw inspiration from forms, shapes, objects, landscapes or experiences. Through a process of accidental and intentional marks over many layers and passes through the press, I transform and alter the original. I love color and line and suggestive marks. I aim for a dynamic balance. Each monotype has its own history.
BIO
I received a liberal arts education with a major in studio art. I retired from years in libraries and have been a studio member of Zea Mays Printmaking since 2006 where I have worked independently and studied under studio faculty. I have exhibited locally and regionally and out of the Pioneer Valley in group shows with Zea Mays Printmaking in Northampton, Mass. Over the past ten years I have been very active in Easthampton City Arts, the arts organization in my hometown. Art builds community!
