ARTIST STATEMENT
The recent prints are a series made on a textured, carborundum laden plate using water-based inks leaving a similar structure in the Dark Flower series, all 30″H by 22″W. I intend a dramatic texture with loose drawing. I leave a reasonable amount of white space from the BFK paper that is used in each print. This series has eighteen different prints made over the last few years.
BIO
Lenore has maintained an art studio in the Fort Point area of Boston, MA, since graduating from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, MA. Her prints are mono prints and wood block prints. Her sculpture practice are constructions made from found materials, often deteriorated woods barrel and bucket parts. Beside maintaining a practice in sculpture and print making she was active in the Fort Point Arts Community during the development of the first artist cooperative at 249 A Street in the 1980’s forward.
