Leonora Wolfeld

I have chose to use semi abstraction and symbolism as my style. The imaginative shapes create rhythms and movement which are needed to complete an image. Sometimes other media such as etching or collage may be added. Creating prints is an exciting process which allows me to create painting with depth and complexity. Wonderful effects can be achieved — effects which are often difficult to accomplish by other painting methods. Although these prints represent my subjective perceptions, the viewer will interpret the images according to his or her own personal aesthetic.

Since 1996, I have won numerous awards and my work is in many private collections. I have been involved in more than twenty-four solo and group shows including exhibits at the Katonah Art Museum, The Shelter Rock Gallery (Manhasset, NY), the Islip Art Museum, the Center for Contemporary Printmaking (Norwalk, Ct), The Long Island Museum (Stony Brook), the Denise Bibro Gallery (Chelsea) and La Connexion Gallery (The Pen and Brush Inc. (NY), BJ Spoke Gallery (Huntington, NY), and La Connexion Gallery (San Miguel de Allende, Mexico).
