ARTIST STATEMENT

I have worked in various media throughout my artistic career. For the last 15 years I have concentrated on monotypes and collages. Recently I have begun combining these with paintings and working on larger pieces. My work is influenced by a mid 20th century sensibility in the shapes and colors I prefer. I have done many pieces in a figurative vein, both abstracted bottles and people. I also do strictly abstract work. My main interest is in pattern and color and the emotions they convey.

BIO

I was born and raised in Melbourne Florida. My mother was an artist who trained with Anni and Josef Albers at Black Mountain College and gave all her children materials and inspiration. I attended Brown University, majored in art, and continued my studies at Maryland Institute of Art. I now work at Cottage Street Studios in Easthampton and live in Florence, Massachusetts. I have been a member of MGNE since 2000.
