About the Juror
Joann Moser has been the Senior Curator of Graphic Arts at the Smithsonian American Art Museum since 1986. Dr. Moser received her Ph.D. in art history from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 1976. She completed her master’s degree at the University of Wisconsin and she holds a B.A. in art history from Smith College. Her book, Singular Impressions: The Monotype in America, was published in 1997. She organized the recent exhibition, What’s it All Mean: William T. Wiley in Retrospect, as well as contributed essays to the accompanying book. She has written on the famous printmaking workshop, Atelier 17, and on collaborative printmaking in the United States before 1960. She has published an essay on the prints of Nathan Oliveira and has written the lead essay for an upcoming catalog of the prints of Sean Scully.
