ARTIST STATEMENT
My artwork revolves around four elements – color, movement, texture and design. My monoprints are abstract improvisational pieces that show the process of printmaking with layers and depth. I rely heavily on color to express and explore emotions, while using gesture to describe my experience of the world. The work is an intuitive and instinctual process of artmaking. Each monoprint is a unique expression influenced by improvisational aspects of the arts, particularly music. I work quickly applying acrylics where the process is an integral part of the expression, embracing the elements of texture and design.
