VIRTUAL ARTIST TALK WITH MAY RODED AND YUQI LIU
THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 19TH @ 7PM ET

Join MNGE 6th National exhibition artists May Roded and Yuqi Liu as they reflect on resilience and fragility in their work and discuss their experiences of being in graduate printmaking programs.
May Roded’s work investigates themes of being and meditative contemplation, and it brings still moments to the forefront of the conversation. By using the language of printmaking and photography, she explores presence through clothing and light that travels in through windows. Roded currently is a Printmaking Graduate student at the University of Iowa with an expected graduation in 2027.
Yuqi Liu is a printmaker and paper artist from Anhui, China, currently based in Providence. She transforms natural fibers into handmade papers that document experience, history, and resistance, merging traditional printmaking with experimental processes to expand the language of print beyond the flat page. Working with natural materials, she creates organic forms where image, language, and material become inseparable.
This virtual webinar will take place online via Zoom. Free admission, but registration is required via Zoom. Open to the public.
