ARTIST STATEMENT
Using transparent and semi-transparent stained papers that allude to human flesh, I stitch together, rebuild and interweave dissimilar and frayed pieces into an integrated composition. My process mimics and references the process of rebuilding and reconstructing from damage to the psyche and self image through an incremental reconstruction of pieces back into an unified whole.

Michaela is a recent graduate with a BFA in Printmaking and Art History from Rhode Island College. She currently lives and works in Providence, RI.
